Storybook Trail Highlighted in UGA Alumni Magazine

Jacob and Bart appeared in the Summer 2023 issue of Georgia, the University of Georgia’s alumni magazine.

The creative duo both received undergraduate degrees from the university and were contacted in 2019 by current UGA students, who wanted to us one of their books in a project at the Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens, Georgia, where the university is located and where Jacob and Bart live.

For their senior project, the students were proposing a "storybook trail” to be installed at the Center, and Jacob and Bart agreed to let them use The Girl Who Kept Night in Her Closet, which has a strong nature theme.

The trail was installed in February 2023 with the pages of the book printed on semi-permanent signs along the boardwalk for families to read as they move along the trail. Bart and Jacob gave a reading at the Center to celebrate the launch of the trail, and Georgia magazine featured the trail and its origin story in the Summer issue.
